Researchers can conduct preliminary research in the Guggenheim's archives collections by consulting finding aids for the collections.

A finding aid is a single document that places the materials in context by consolidating information about the collection, such as acquisition and processing; provenance, including administrative history or biographical note; scope of the collection, including size, subjects, media; organization and arrangement; and an inventory of the series and the folders. If you need assistance using the finding aids, please contact the archives at archives@guggenheim.org.

Preferred Citations for archives collections are as follows: Collection Title. Call Number. Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum Archives, New York, NY. Requests for publication of records in collections should be addressed to the Manager of the Library and Archives at archives@guggenheim.org
